The INSEAD Global Luxury Forum 2018: Strategic Topics

This year, six new and emerging topics will be presented at the forum:

Structural Transformation Of Luxury And Retail: The New Frontiers: Luxury is now being defined in new ways that has evolved with shifting demographics, socioeconomics, and digital landscape, facing changes at place that have never been encountered before. In the global world, how does one preserve a brand’s DNA while providing relevant products to customers from across the globe? Where is the limit between product adaptation and a brand’s heritage?

Shifting Luxury DNA Towards Sustainability: What are the best ways to translate sustainability into both aspirational brand stories and profitable business models? How are luxury consumers’ needs shifting from status symbols to stories that connect with universal values and ideals?

Digital Craftsmanship: Technology has transformed creative industries, and no brands can afford to ignore it. With various digital tools already being used, the next step is to successfully merge tech and creativity. For aspirational brands, the primary function of technology is to create new possibilities for human creativity, bringing meaning and intangible artistic value to luxury products and experiences.

Technology As A Tool To Spark An Emotional Connection: Value creation through emotional engagement – from sustainable products to experiential luxury. In the world of digital transformation, art and world culture will be the aspects of luxury consumption that will connect products to human nature. Artistic acumen and value-based story telling will be key to create meaningful customer experiences. Emotions and personal engagement will differentiate brands from each other.

Corporate Transformation: What is the balance between the high-tech retail and high-touch customer service? What are best practices of in-house digital transformation for luxury brands between startup tech innovation and century-old heritage?

Women in Luxury: A special project on women in the luxury sector will also be presented during the forum. This project will explore best practices in building a more inclusive corporate culture that would foster creativity and a result-oriented business environment. An exclusive series of interviews and reports telling the success stories of different women in the world of luxury will be unveiled.

The day will be concluded with a champagne networking cocktail.
